Consider your garden to be an everchanging artform where you create with the magical assistance of nature. The structural garden media enables you, the garden artist, to impose order. Stone, brick, cement, metal, glass, wood, all provide colour, texture and form. As channels and vessels for water their character is transformed into light reflecting mirrors or sparkling fountains. Plants provide a palette of colours, form and character. The appearance of some are influenced strongly by the seasons; some even by the time of day, whereas others seem to defy the passage of time and changing weather. Plants provide both the backdrop and actors in the cultural scenes that make up the Celtic Garden. Then there are artefacts. Sculpture, furniture and plant containers may tell a story, present the ancient past or introduce Celtic design motifs. To find out more read Sylvia Jones' Celtic Garden concept in The Celtic Garden - an introduction which costs £4.50 including postage and packing (UK and EU only). Also take a look at the Celtic Garden Gallery. Sylvia Jones creates artefacts for Celtic Gardens to commission. |
